Delayed Periods After Breastfeeding: Can I Conceive Again?

i delivered my baby 18 months back and have still not got my periods.  i stopped breast feeding her when she was 14 months. my gynac did an internal check up and thought all is well.  i have breast fed her exclusively till she was around 6 months.  then gradually gave some food with my milk.

i want now another baby.  is it possible or do i have to wait till i get my periods

Yes, it's possible to have another baby because some women conceive again before they ever have a first period. This might be the case with you.

What you need to find out is if you are ovulating. An OB GYN can't tell you that. You will need to track your cycle and look for fertility signs. The NFP or Natural Family Planning method is very useful for this and you can find free information and charts at
