When Will My Period Return After Weaning?

Question
Hello! I am in the process of weaning my baby. I am wondering if you could tell me about how long it will be before my periods will return once I have stopped nursing.
Thanks for the information!

Answer
Studies have shown that it can take up to a year after you stop nursing to return to having regular periods. Usually, your period should return after you wean the baby, but if it does not, contact your doctor and it can be induced using Provera 10mg twice a day for 5 days and you should get your period within 10 more days.
