Question
hi im 19+ weeks pregnant, i have been suffering from this problem since week 7. but it seems to be getting worse not better. i have spent the last 3 weeks in hospital, having drips and blood transfusions, i am now at home still bleeding and now producing large blood clots, they look like raw liver, is this a good or bad sign? i dont really know much about this, is there a good chance my baby will servive? the baby hasnt been troubled up till 2 weeks ago he/she was a good size for its age, please can you give me some advice, why, how, what and where! thankyou

Answer
Usually, the growing fetus is not affected by any subchorionic hematoma that you may have developed, and the bleeding usually stops on its own without affecting the baby. However, if you have needed blood transfusions due to the bleeding, you may have developed severe anemia, which can, indeed, have an effect on fetal development. Sinice I do not know the specific details of your situation, nor have I seen the results of the sonograms, I cannot give you any advice.
