Baby's Small Stomach at 34 Weeks: Understanding Concerns & What to Expect

I am 22 years old and this is my first child and the date of my last period was october 2004. I am 34 weeks pregnant and my doctor told me at my appointment friday that my baby's stomach was skinny for her gestational age however i was only 5lbs 12oz when i was born and the father was also very little could this be a factor? Do i have anything to worry about?

As long as you are not having any bleeding and there has been adeuqate growth of the baby, you need not worry about a "skinny stomach" of the baby. A fetal stomach is difficult to measure and I do not know what your doctor meant by a "skinny stomach for the gestational age". Certainly, there is nothing you can do at this time. Once the baby is born, the pediatrician will evaluate the baby. Don't worry now.
