Swollen Veins Around Knuckles & Fingers: Causes & Relief

Some small veins have started to swell up around the knuckles on my hands. One swelled up and a thin vein was going down my middle finger. This was really sore to touch, and had a small lump. It went of after i rubbed it a few times but i was left with a small red colourd bruise.  This also happened on my arm once, and my whole arm ached all day. This seems to happy quite a lot, but when i asked a doctor about it, he looked at me like i was stupid. I am 40

I think you should go see a doctor if it happens again so s/he can see what you're talking about. My only other advice would be to have some blood work done next time your annual physical is due to test your clotting factor - you may want to discuss taking 81mg of ASA daily with your doctor too.
