QuestionAmber
I recently had my artificial nails filled in. They were lifting at the edges after only 2 days of the initial application. I am a believer in second chances, but in this case, not a third chance. I had never had this done before so I did not know what to expect. The technician used a rotary tool to "buff off" the loose edges. When she was finished, I had dark red spots on every fingernail where she had buffed them. When they were covered with acrylic, the red shows and looks terrible. I have the white tips, pink in the center and red where she buffed. I asked her why they were so red and she said she buffed in too far. Initially, they were very sore, but that has passed. My question is, how does this affect my nails? If I have the nails removed, will they be too weak and thin until this mess grows out? What should I do? Obviously, I will not go back to the same salon, but is it better to remove and deal with the aftermath or should I keep them on until they grow out past the damaged part? Please help!
AnswerGretchen,
If you remove these nails they will be very sore and will probably bother you till they grow out.If they are taken off improperly you can permanently damage your natural nails ,and we don't want that.
I would find another tech that doesn't use a drill and keep them on till the redness grows out.
Look at a more high end salon there you will most likely find a tech who has years of experience and files by hand.
Good Luck!
