Understanding a Thickened Endometrium & Biopsy - What to Expect

Question
I have recently been told my endometrium is thickened from a sonogram I had. Then I was told I will probably need a biopsy. What would they be looking for in a biopsy. It really doesn't bother me to much in any way it's just that I had been having cramping in between my periods that I had never had before.

Answer
Dear Joan,

Thank you for writing me I will try to help you out if I can most of the time when a doctor wants to do a biopsy, it is because they suspect cell changes. Some of these cell changes might mean cancer so they just want to make sure so they will know how to treat the problem.

Hope I have helped some
