Brown Spotting Before Period: Causes & When to See a Doctor

I have been trying to get pregnant. My last period was July 18. I should have started this one on August 15th. I have not started yet. I am having brown spotting only. I have taken a pregnancy test and it is negative. Is there something possibly wrong with me that would require a doctors visit?

The brown spotting may possibly be your period this month. If you do not get a regular period by August 22, repeat the pregnancy test. If it is still negative, you are definitely not pregnant Sometimes, you can have some hormonal imbalance from time to time that causes merely spotting instead of a regular period.
