Understanding Post-Coital Bleeding: Causes & When to Worry
QuestionHi!
My name is Stormy. I am a proud mom of 4 and pregnant again. The first day of my last LMP is 4/12/06. By my calculations that puts me a little over 6 weeks. I am concerned because twice after sex I have had a tiny spot of pink blood when I wiped. It is never more and there is no cramping. I never had post coital bleeding so I am not sure what causes it. I had bleeding 2 times in previous pregnancy with my twins due to a low lying placenta and a bligted ovu I had. How common is this type of bleeding? And what should I do?
Thanks,
Stormy
AnswerHI Stormy.
congratulations on your pregnancy! You should be due January 19 then.....
I would check with your doctor, I am sure the bleeding is nothing to be concerned about, you know the blood vessels around the cervix get swollen and this could be causing the spotting...
I would think at this early stage it would be too early to have bleeding from a low lying placenta. But just to be on the safe side you should call your doctor and let him/her know about it. Take it easy in the meantime and stay hydrated. Wow 5 kids- my hat's off to you!
Do you know if this is a twin pregnancy or not yet? i am assuming it is a singleton.
Good luck! andi
