Persistent Heavy Bleeding After Menopause: Causes & Solutions
QuestionI am nearly 57 years old, I am still having periods and HEAVY bleeding. I went to gyn. which put me on provera to slow the bleeding, it did the flow but lasts twice as long. Nothing wrong inside all has been checked. I have taken this for six months now and I have done nothing but slow the flow, I have hair growing on my arms and legs again and I take Efferoxer xr and I could now unscrew your head and screw it back on. I have a 30 year old handicapped child, lot of lifting, but I am drianed from bleeding taking care of him, and blaming my hubsand for everything which it is not his fault. If this dr. doesn't decide what to do next month, I will not return, the bleeding is old now. I bled for 19 days last month took the pill from the first to 12th of everymonth and started again in April 12th and still going bright red. What should I have done, or do I have a quack.
AnswerWhile it is outside of my area of expertise to comment on the medical reasons why you are experiencing heavy, continual bleeding, it is certainly not normal, and is taking a heavy toll on the quality of your life. If the doctor you are seeing now can not solve this problem, then it is time to get another doctor.
