Pinkish Bleeding After Negative Pregnancy Test: Possible Causes & Concerns
QuestionI had my period June 20th which was regular and lasted 4-5 days. I took a pregnancy test on july 6th which read negative. My husband and I are trying to conceive. So today July 9th we had sexual intercourse and to our suprise we have like pinkish blood. What I am confused about is can i be pregnant or is this an early period coming on? I have a son with a previous relationship and I didnt registar with that pregancy until i was almost 9 weeks. What do you think? Thank you.

AnswerIf your last period started on June 20, the earliest you could have ovulated (and conceived) would have been on July 3. If you got pregnant around that date, a pregnancy test would not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after missing your next period. You are due for your next period on July 17, so if you do not get your period by July 24, take a pregnancy test. Implantation bleeding usually occurs 8 days after ovulaton (around July 11).
