Irregular Periods & Spotting: Understanding Cycle Variations & Potential Causes

I am not really sure how long my cycles are because they vary, average they are 27 days. I started my period on Jan. 2nd and then another one on Jan. 28th. then my last period was on the 20th. Before the Jan. 2nd period my last period was Nov 30, 2010. So as you can see it varies greatly. On March 20 I had some brownish discharge. It looked really old and was only a little bit, the spotting happened for about a day. Here it is the 24th and I still have not started. Yesterday I got sick but I think it might just be from my nerves or a little bug. No fever though. My breasts have been sore and I am more tired than usual. Do you think I could be pregnant and the discharge was implantation spotting?
