Understanding Post-Pill Bleeding: Implantation, Period, or Other Causes?
QuestionHello. I am 22 years old and came off the pill 3 months ago. My last period started on the 14th April, and from that time i was having unprotected sex up until the 30th April. On the 8th/9th May I noticed some light spotting, only noticable when wiping, brown in colour. Today ( being the 11th may) i have some cramps and heavier bleeding, a lot darker and red in colour, still not as heavy as a normal period. Is it possible that this is implantation bleeding, or maybe it didnt implant and i am miscarrying? or is it just an early period, I am usually regualr. Please Help!
AnswerMegan,
It could be a number of things. It could be a regular period, or the brown stuff you noticed on May 8th/9th could have been the implantation bleeding and this could be a miscarriage. The only way to know for sure is to make an appointment with your OB/GYN so he can order some bloodwork. If you think you might be pregnant and you are having bleeding at any time, the best thing to do is to contact your doctor. I hope everything works out for you!
