Brown Discharge After Sex: Pregnancy or Birth Control?

ive been on birth control for about a year and a half now and i had sex about two weeks ago and now i have all this brown stuff all down there... is that a sign of being pregnant or possibly from my birth control?

Hi Lela,

the brown stuff is probably old blood. (brown=old... red=new and fresh)  There are lots of things that could cause this.... and it could be absolutely nothing. It COULD be from your birth control. I dont know what type of birth control you are using, but just about all forms of the pill and Depo Provera can cause bleeding like this. is your period late or anything? Could this be the start of it?

If you are concerned you should call your doctor and speak to them, though, just to be sure.
