QuestionI am 19, no children. The date of my last period was 3/27/04.
I had previously been on NuvaRing for birth control and stopped using it after that period.
I had (unprotected- he pulled out) sex 3 times on the 29th.
My nipples have been very sore and swollen since April 10th now, I've had abnormal amounts of vaginal discharge, and I've been very tired. I'm worried that I might be pregnant.
What are the symptoms of going off hormonal birth control and could they be similar to that of pregnancy?
AnswerIf your last period started on March 27, then you would not have ovulated until, at least, April 9. You could only have become pregnant if you had unprotected sex on April 8,9,10, or 11. YOu could not have conceived on March 29 (two days after starting your period). The earliest signs of pregnancy are breast tenderness, fatigue, and nausea. Vaginal discharge is not a sign of pregnancy. However, ifyou do not get your period by April 23, wait an additional seven days and take a pregancy test.
