Questionwhile consumating with my girlfriend the condom broke, so we went to planned parenthood and she was given a pill. it is now 6 weeks later and my girlfriend has not had her period but was told that she should have it by now. when she took a pregnancy test there were 2 pink lines but one was VERY dull and eventually disappeared. what is going on? i REALLY need to know.
Thank You
Wylie
AnswerHi Wylie :)
2 things could be possibly going on here.
First off, your girlfriend could be pregnant. I assume the pill she was given, was the morning after pill, to terminate any possibility of conception continuing after intercourse.
If I am correct, the morning afterpill will only be affective 72 hours after intercourse. If taken afterwards, its not affective.
The other scenario, is that this "pill" could have caused a hormonal imbalance. The pill she took, is a hormonal remedy, and can through a womans cycle right off.
If you did a pregnancy test, at the end of the timing test, if there are 2 pink lines she is pregnant. Doesnt make any difference how faded the line is. If there are 2..then thats a positive result. However, given the sufficiant time, and there is only 1 line showing, then thats a definate negative.
The only way, to be completely sure of whats going on here, is to go back to the doctor and ask for a BETA HCG blood test. This test, is highly accurate, and will conclusively diagnose pregnancy, if it exists.
If the test comes back negative, then this will most likely be a hormonal imbalance, due to the pill she took.
Hope this is of some help, and if you have any more questions, feel free to write back :)
