QuestionI have 6 yr old twin boys, i had a c-section for baby B so i had a planned c-section with my 3 yr old daughter. i'm thinking about having one more baby and wanted to know if another c-section is ok before i make up my mind. I didn't have any complications with either of them. Thanks
AnswerHi Kirsten ..
Yes, another c-section would be fine. Infact, its probably the safest route to go, if you decide to have another baby.
Your OBGYN, will probably tell you the same thing. Trying to have a VBAC, (Vaginal delivery, after c-section) Poses for risks for you, and for the baby.
There is a slim risk that you could have a uterine rupture. The previous scars, have a 1 percent risk of opening up during pregnancy, as well if you attempted a VBAC delivery. Its rare that it would happen, and the chances are slim, but it is a fatal condition.
If you were to become pregnant again, you would most likely have a scheduled c-section, at about 38 weeks, to prevent any unforseen problems.
Hope this is of some help, and thanks for writing :)
