thank u for ur help
AnswerHi Jackie :)
I can only assume that your mother had a partial hysterectomy. Now and days, if there is no evidence of cancer they usually only remove the uterus, and cervix and leave the ovaries for hormonal function.
Regardless, she should not be bleeding at all, and no this is not normal. Now I dont know if this could be related to the hernia. Gastrointestinal issues, are not my strong area at all, but I do think it would be strange that the two, would be related.
Your mother should go to her GYN immediately to have this examined soon. Again, this is not normal at all. If she still does have her ovaries, perhaps she needs to be examined for ovarian cysts, or another underlining gynocological issue that could be causing this. Its really hard for me to determine whats going on here, because I dont know what organs were left, and what was taken out.
Again, I dont think this is related to the hernia, but please dont take that for face value. As I said, the hernia issue, is completely out of my field. It very well could have something to do with it, however I do think its unlikely. We are talking about 2 completely unrelated areas of the body.
Again, your mother needs to be examined promptly. If she keeps bleeding heavily, it will eventually leave her feeling weak, and extremely fatigued. She definately needs to find the source of this.
If you would like to follow up with me , I will do everything I can to give you information. Its hard to determine because I dont know much details about her hysterectomy.
Thanks for writing :)
