Understanding Anxiety After Birth Control Cessation: Natural Remedies & Support

Question
Cheryl,
My daughter recently stopped taking bc pills and is now experiencing severe anxiety attacks.  She wanted to see her doctor about changing her pill and just abruptly stopped without telling me. These attacks are really interfering with her work and everyday life.  She is having one right now!  Do you have any suggestions?  We really don't want anti-anxiety prescription medication for a temporary problem. We would really like to use natural remedies if at all possible.
I've read about L-Theanine and purchase that at our local health food store a few days ago.  I've also read the B vitamins might help.  Any other suggestions?  (we're also trying yoga breathing techniques for relaxation)  How long will it take for her to be herself again?

Answer
Thanks for being so concerned about your doctor. I agree with you about natural methods but I don't know anything else besides what you have suggested. I hope she will be ok and please let me know. You can email me at CHERYL51@aol.com and keep me updated. I guess you know that the bc pills are hormonal and can cause side effects short-term and long-term. It's really good (in my opinion) if she is not on the bc but consult your doctor.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
