QuestionI am 30 weeks pregnant and I was just wanting to know how can I tell if I am going in to premature labor?
AnswerHi Mary,
Signs of early labour would be consistant contractions. If you have consistant contractions that are moderate to severe every 6 minutes apart, then its essential to go to your ER to be evaluated.
Often, first time moms confuse Braxton Hicks with labour. Braxton Hicks is a false contraction. Its your body's way of having a practice run, for real labour.
Braxton Hicks are sparatic, virtually painless. Your will feel your uterus tightening up, but thats the extent of it.
But as I said, if you feel severe pain, every 6 minutes or less apart, consistantly, its essential to see a physician immediately.
Hope this is of some help, and thanks for writing.
