QuestionThe first day of my last period was Oct. 16th. My periods are very regular and the length of them is normal as well! I have taken two pregnancy tests! I am starting to become really confused as to why this is happening! I am not under a lot of stress, I don't over exercise, I'm on a healthy diet, etc. etc. I can't think of any other cause why my period would be so late. Yet, every test I take is negative! Please help me!
AnswerHi Mary :)
You didnt say when you did the home pregnancy tests, which makes me beleive that possibly, perhaps you tested to early.
So, I reccomend that you retest again. This time, make sure you do it in the morning. Your morning urine is far more concentrate then during the day. So if you are pregnant, and carrying the HCG hormone in your urine, then it will be more prominate then.
Also, its possible that the HCG levels in your urine, was to low to register on the tests. Different brand names, require different levels of the hormone to trigger a positive result.
Now you are well over a month late for your period now. So testing now, should give you an accurate result.
Even if the tests come back negative again, I suggest seeing your doctor and requesting a beta HCG blood test. This is conclusive in diagnosing pregnancy, even if the pregnancy is extremely early.
Now if all your tests come back negative, then this is definatly due to a hormonal imbalance. Hormonal imbalances are caused from stress, dietary changes, weight gain, weight loss, and illness such as flu, cold, or any condition that may force physical stress on your system.
Often hormonal imbalances will mimic pregnancy symptoms to a tee, so it can be very confusing. The only way to be sure is to see your physician for testing, and evaluation.
I would definatly do another Home pregnancy test again as I mentioned earlier. Again, in the morning and make sure you allow full time allowance before reading the test result.
I hope this answers your question, and thankyou for writing :)
