QuestionDear Brenda,
The last time i had unprotected sex was on 3/31, and I took Postinor within 36 hours after the intercourse. My period came about two weeks early on 4/7. I usually get my period around 16th -20th of every month.
1. Did this happen due to the fact that I took the pill?
And also, the last time I had sex was 4/12 and my partner used a condom. It's already 5/13 and I still haven't gotten my period. I've done two HPTs last week, both came out negative.
2. Is it too early to do the test?
3. Do I refer to my normal period cycle or the one that came early to make sure if I'm missing a period/I'm just late?
Thanks
AnswerDear Aya,
First - I apologize for the delay in answering (PC trouble)...
Postinor-2 may change your pattern of menstrual bleeding; although most women will have their next period at the normal time, some will have a later, or earlier than normal period. There may also be some irregular vaginal bleeding or spotting until your next period.
Pregnancy tests are typically accurate approximately 3 weeks after conception occurs, so yes, the tests would be accurate now if you had conceived on 4/12.
Anytime you have a period "off-schedule", you consider that your NEW cycle starting date.
I hope this information has helped you and answered your questions. I wish you well!
