Missing Fetal Heartbeat at 14 Weeks: What to Expect

Question
According to my LMP {10-27-07} and my doctor I am about 14 weeks pregnant. Yesterday {monday} I had my 2nd prenatal appointment. They tried to do the dopplar to find the heartbeat. They didn't find anything except mine. Then during the exam they found out that my uterus is tilted and that I have diastasis... {I've never been pregnant before}
They told me to come back in 2 weeks to try the dopplar again and if we still cant find the heartbeat then they want me to have my first ultrasound. They also said they were having trouble finding the baby in the uterus during the exam.. What is going on? I am showing quite well, I have lots of sickness and back pain and the headaches. I also had 3 tests come back positive. Could it be false? Please please help me..
Also if it helps, I have endometriosis, could this cause the problems?

Answer
Dear Meagan

I wonder why you may have your first ultrasond at 16 weeks especially if your doctor cannot see the baby. I have no clue. There is no point to delay ultrasound in such case.

There is no point to try Doppler after 2 weeks and performing ultrasound if Doppler fails. Ultrasound is essential in your case and should be performed without delay.

Good Luck
