Early Pregnancy Symptoms: What's Normal & When to Worry

Question
Hi Roni
I am 8weks and 4days pregnant. I went to my doctor after 2 positive tests had it confirmed at 5 1/2 weeks. This is my first pregnancy, I'm 33 and really happy. Initially I had very sore breasts for the first 6 weeks but no other symptoms apart from bloating. In fact for the last 2 weeks I have felt absolutely great!(apart from bad bloating), no sickness, headaches, cramps or sore breasts. I am exercising 3 times a week and really only feel tired in the evening. I'm beginning to feel like I'm not really pregant and that I should at least have some of the negative symptoms...am I worrying for no reason? ...any advice would be appreciated. Also , I am having my first hospital visit at 12 weeks and I am heading off on holiday next week which will involve a 4 hour flight. do you have any opinion on flying early in pregnancy?

Answer
Hello!  Consider yourself pregnant and lucky!  Many women think if they are not sick they are not pregnant.
As long as you have not been bleeding or cramping or anything that would suggest the pregnacy loss then you are just fortunate to not be ill.
When I was early in pregnacy I could hardly move.   I watched a little girl at my home at the time.  I would crawl out of bed, into the tub, then crawl to the couch!  I was THAT tired and ill.  It was awful!
As far as flying goes.  I suggest you call and talk to your Dr. or Nurse on this one.  This is one of those questions that everyone has an idea on and as far as I know no one knows for sure.  In those kinds of cases I always say ask and follow your Drs advice.  It is best to choose to always listen to your Dr. than trying to decide based on 50 peoples thoughts on the subject.
Good luck to you and Congrats!  I hope you have this good of luck the whole time!
