Question
I am 9 Weeks Pregnant after 3 Miscarriages and Just 21 Years old . For the last 2 Months i have been short of breath , dizzy , constant headache/migraine , and i will have convulsions or will just pass out . I have been to the ER twice and sent home with no results , i have been to my Gp and another GP in the practise 8 times and i still have no clue as to whats going on , they are all very reluctant to do anything, and keep offing counciling. today finally on my third GP my 9th visit i was offered an injection to fight the headache/migraine . they dont seem to be concerned about the convulsions , the dizzyness . Well i am - my concerns are something other than my state of mind is wrong . I am concerned that there offereing my Drugs for my headaches - ct scans and they keep telling me of the mild risks during a young pregnany , but no follow up tests have been offered to cheack if the baby is still ok ? what is wrong with me ?

Answer
Dear Cheryle,

First, I want to apologize for the delay in answering (PC troubles)...

Now, I am not going to presume to try and diagnose you from this forum, as that would not be appropriate. My first thought was that I would assume that they have made sure that your blood pressure is stable and within normal limits.

My immediate second thought, however, is that I would strongly suggest that you get a referral to an OB/GYN to monitor this pregnancy. If you are having shortness of breath, dizziness, consistent headache, convulsions, and loss of consciousness during your pregnancy, this is something that should be referred to a specialist in the field - an OB/GYN. I would assume that your complaints and concerns will be taken more seriously and will be followed up on more thoroughly by the specialist.

That is my definite recommendation to you. I hope this information has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
