Low hCG Levels & Potential Pregnancy Concerns: What Could It Mean?

i missed my periods on 15th October,had the hcg beta test on the night of 24th Oct.The hcg reading was 23.(I donot have very regular periods,they move few days back and forth).Doctor prescribe me folic acid and duphaston,she also had a uterus scan but said it is not clear. she ask me to have a test again after a week.why is the beta hcg so low?i am not going to continue this or could it be an ectopic pregnancy.(i m not having any pain in back or uterus,no spotting or bleeding as well,just becoming bit tired while walking)this will be our first baby,we r very hopeful.

The normal range of hCG is very broad and it cannot specify whether your pregnancy is normal or not that early in your case. therefore, a transvaginal ultrasound should be carried out to determine the nature of your pregnancy. Please be aware that ultrsound at 5 weeks pregnancy can only give informative data with experienced sonographer.
