High-Risk Pregnancy: Breech Baby & Gestational Diabetes - Ultrasound Concerns

iam pregnant my original due date is january 5th 2009 I have gestational dibetes which is so bad that i am now taking daily insulin shots for.  Also my baby is breech and has been for almost 3 months now.  my due date changed 2 weeks ago on the ultrasound to january 26th and showed that my baby only weighed 4 pounds and 2 ounces.  which would be right for a january 26th due date.  my doctor says that becasue the baby is breech that those measurements are inaccurate and that he is not going to change my due dat to january the 256th but it still remains the 5th.  i am worried that he is wrong and that those measurements may be more accurate that he thinks.  Today at my visit he told me that he is going to induce my labor on the 29th of january.  My husband an i are wooried that ourbaby wil be too little.   I am anting to know if the breech bay weighs more and would throw my due datesoff by three weeks.  i am really worried and would like some information on this and whether or not the baby would weigh and measure wrong on the ultrasound and cause my due date to be worng this whole time what are the odds of this happening???    or if the changed date  that all of the sudden appeared of jan 26th could be the correct date becasue of the weight of 4 pounds or would her being breech throw that off too???????

I am confused. Why would your doctor induce you at 43 1/2 wks if he still thinks your due date is the 5th? That makes no sense at all. I am not sure you if you just had a typo, or your first due date really was the 5th. I am also confused as to why you and your husband are so worried the baby will be small if they induce you past the second due date of the 26th? By the 29th the baby should be a normal newborn size. Maybe your doctor really did change your due date to the 26th, otherwise why would he induce you according to him, 3 1/2 wks late.

I don't believe that breech babies measurements differ any different from a vertex babe. Good luck!
