QuestionHello,
This is Camber, Joey, and Venus.
We are doing a think tank project for school. We are
required to come up with a problem and solution. Our problem is that nail
polish stinks. Our solution is to make scented nail polish.
We were wondering if you know what ingredient makes nail polish stink.
Can you take that out without ruining the long lastingness? If removing
this ingredient isn't possible, then can we cover it up with a strong
scent?
Thank You
Camber, Joey, and Venus
AnswerHi Camber, Joey & Venus :-)
Formaldehyde and toulene are a couple of the ingredients found in nailpolish that causes the strong odour. No, regrettably you can not remove these ingredients.
I'm sure there are others that add to it's strong odour, but can't come up with the names at this time.
I suppose it's "possible" that you could add a scent to nail polish. But, you need to remember that whatever chemical/product you add to change the odour will affect the performance of the product.
Perhaps a chemist could better assist you with this project?
I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more help.
Best of luck with your project.
