Understanding Cervical Dilation at 32 Weeks of Pregnancy

Hello I went to the doctor today and was told that I have dialated 1/2 cm and I am 32 weeks pregnant my due date isnt until march 31 is this a very bad thing and is it possible that i can hold out until my due date?

Yes, it is possible that you will still be able to get to your due date. Many women dilate a bit in the last two months of pregnancy. Some can be at 2cm for the last few weeks!

Your doctor will keep tabs on this. If he feels you are at risk for premature labor, he will take measures to prevent it, such as bed rest for the last little bit. But for now there is really no need to panic.
