QuestionHi, doctor. I have had been diagnosed with some anovulatory problems (1st
time didn't release follicle, 2nd time egg didn't mature enough to release).
This time I started 50 mcg Clomid, produced a 20 mm follicle which was
released on day 12 of my cycle. I came in on Day 12 and the dr gave a HcG to
release the follicle. I went to see her 48 hrs later, and the egg hasn't released
and there are cysts forming around the follicle, similar to the 1st time (see
above). Why didn't I release the follicle; I thought getting the hcg shot gave a
very high percentage of releasing the egg? Is this uncommon? What are the
chances of being given a trigger shot and not releasing the follicle? Is there
STILL a chance of getting pregnant. Please advise.
Thanks.
AnswerDear Karishma
Yes definitely, there is a chance to get pregnant in the near future. Ovarian factor is the easiest to treat as long as your ovary is capable of producing eggs.
I think your doctor will go for trials in the next few cycles with higher doses of hCG shots. i think she gave u 5000IU and she may go for 10,000. This is quite normal to go up with the does as the response varies from 1 woman to another. I personally pefer to give the hCG dose when the follicle is 18 mm rather than 20 but again this is a personal variation among doctors.
I want to you to be calm and sure of a positive result in the near future inshakkah.
Good Luck
