Managing Your First Period After an Early Miscarriage
QuestionI had an early Misc. This July at about 5 weeks they never found a fetus or a heartbeat via ultrasound. I found out early because I felt preg just like my first child, and so I took a home preg test that came up positive right away, followed with a blood test with my doc. HGC levels never passed a certian point. I had a natural MC that lasted two weeks then no bleeding for 32 days. My first period was very strange and lasted two weeks it never got heavy enough to have to wear a pad but a few times when I had to sit and go pee a huge piece of tissue that looked light pink and at one point grayishp pink came out. Like I said this lasted two weeks and now it has only been about 7 day since it stopped and I have menstral symptoms with cramps, tender breasts and spotting what is going on. Please help! I'm so uniformed.
AnswerDear Stephanie
This seems to be a case of an incomplete miscarriage where some of the conception products were expelled and few might be still retained inside your uterus.
I advise a transvaginal ultrasound by an experienced sonographer to excluse the presence of any remnants of concetion that could be responsible for the abnormal bleeding pattern you experienced. Furthermore, this remnants of conception may include some chorionic (incompletely developed placenta) tissue and this will heep your hCG level above normal for nonpregnant levels, but never reaches a level that indicates a pregnancy.
Best of luck in your future pregnancy.
