QUESTION: The first doctor i spoke with says i should not worry as long as i have been pregnant before and that i should wait for like 2 years before i start any treatment.I just need you to help tell me the possible reasons for the infertility. I have been doing lots of research on the internet.

ANSWER: Hi Luckie,

Ovulation is one of the main factors that infertility causes. Several factors cause a decrease in ovulation such as being in stressful situations. Your age is a huge factor, because you are over thirty, ovulation has slowed down considerably. There are also a number of medical conditions that can cause infertility; these include cervical conditions that are brought on by diseases and infections. Scar tissue and fallopian tubes that are blocked can also cause infertility in women. Fibroids are tumors in the uterus that can cause infertility as well. Anatomic conditions or having an abnormal uterine lining are considered uterine problems which contribute to infertility.

QUESTION: will clomid work from me? I had a pelvic scan and i have no fibroid or anything like that. But what i suspect may be blocked tubes, i guess

Answer
Hi Luckie,

Yes, you can try it. Clomid tricks the body into believing that it has lowered levels of estrogen. As a result, the brain begins to secrete increased levels of GnRH which stimulates the release of FSH and LH. These hormones then trigger the ovaries to begin to mature more follicles.
