Understanding hCG Levels in Early Pregnancy: A Doctor's Perspective

My wife is 7 half weeks pregnant. ultrasound shows heartbeat at 145 bpm.
Her hcg level was at 110000 at 6 weeks but her latest blood test shows it has slightly dropped.
Is this cause for concern?

Although hCG levels are not reliable as the normal range is extremely wide, a marked fall is unusual. If she have no abnormal symptoms and a recent ultrasound (after the drop)showed normal findings, I would not worry but she should keep her antenatal care visits in time. Meanwhile, it is advisable to avoid household activities and exercise till her next visit to her doc.
