Answer
Hi Lisa
Sorry I haven't replied sooner, it seems the system isn't emailing some of my questions to me!
Well, it's no wonder you're feeling down when you've been bleeding so long! Miscarriage is an awful experience & I know that all you want to do is get ack to some sort of normality.

It sound like you have retained some tissue. Since you've passed the large clot, have you found that the bleeding has improved? It may be that the clot was the culprit.
Even so, prolongued bleeding (any longer than 2wks) after miscarriage needs to be checked out. Arrange a trip to the doctor so this can be investigated. They may choose to do an ultrasound which shows up any retained tissue in your uterus. This may be done externally or internally.

You may find that your bleeding will now slow down and stop, if it doesn't they should send you in for a D&C - this is a small surgical procedure usually done under a light general anaesthetic where they giev your uterus a 'spring clean' with a suction tool. It sounds horrible I know but it gets rid of excess tissue and, allowing for slight after-bleeding, should stop the heavy bleeding and get you on the road to recovery.

I do hope this has helped & wish you the best.

Kindest Regards
Sarah
