AnswerDiane,
Im not sure if I could help you, but I didn't want to send an automated response when everyone else has been so unhelpful.
There could be a number of factors as to why you have experienced these miscarriages, but also it could be for no reason at all. Weight is often problematic and it is best to try getting your BMI under 30 to optimise your chances.
18 weeks is quite a long time to wait, but thats the NHS for you! I would ring again and ask to speak to someone in charge to say you are not happy with the attitude you received in the first place. It is a very distressing time for you as it is, you dont need poor attitudes from the people who you need to support you through this. Hopefully it wont take 18 weeks for an appointment, and hopefully they'll be able to help. My friend went to a fertility clinic once, and they were very adiment with her they would not treat her until her BMI was under 30, they ran blood tests etc but thats as far as they went, so maybe if your BMI is over that maybe thats something you can work on in the 18 weeks. I should add that my friend got her BMI down to just over 30 ( 30.74 I think it was) and she successfully fell pregnant and has recently had a healthy baby girl after years of heartache and waiting.
Good luck, and I really hope you get a positive and successful pregnancy soon.
Kind regards,
Christine
