QuestionHi: I just received my blood work results and my AST was high. What does AST stand for and what can I do to lower my results? Thank you.
AnswerHi Janet. In order to help you further, I would need the actual AST result. The normal range for ALT is approximately 13-39. If it's only a little high, then it's probably clinically insignificant, unless other liver enzymes (such as ALT and ALP) are also high.
