QuestionHi
I have been trying to conceive from last six months.And my doctor suggested me to take letrozo and premarin. And asked me to have a follicular study on the ,7th, 11th and 14th day of my cycle.I did scan on 7th day and 11th day. the size was measure as below
7th day - Right ovary follicle -> 8X8mm Left Ovary Follicle->7X6mm Endometrial Thickness -> 4.5 mm
11th day - Right Ovar follicle->9X5mm Left Ovary Follicle->Not seen Endometrial Thickness->7mm
I am worried that they were telling like it has not grown much ..
Can anyone=e tell me is this ok?.And i can get conceived this month?
Eagerly waiting

AnswerHello Sani from India,
The follicle needs to reach a size of 18-24mms in order for ovulation to occur. Anything less than that will not lead to ovulation. Without ovulation, pregnancy cannot occur. So, based on the CD#11 ultrasound, your right follicle has not reached an appropriate size and may indicate that it is not growing, which in turn, indicates that the medication you used is not working. My recommendation would be to repeat the ultrasound at CD#14 and CD#16. If there is not ovulatory sized follicle at those points, then the cycle should be cancelled due to lack of response, you should be given provera for 10 days to induce a period, then start a new cycle using Clomid at 150 mg per day. The premarin is not necessary so I don't know why your doctor is using it, but I have a hard time understanding why doctors in India do what they do anyways.
