QuestionMy name is Laura I live in Wisconsin, I've been married for 6 years and I cant get pregnant, I thought it was because of abnormal menstrual periods but now there normal and we been trying to conceive on the days i'm ovulating but with no luck. I decided to go to the doctor and take fertility treatment and for my husband to go do a semen analysis but before that I would please like to know aprox. how much the treatment and the analysis cost it would be so helpful if you could let me know.

I'm afraid that costs are very location specific. I don't know what they are in your area. I counsel my patients here to budget for $4000 for all the testing, excluding the laparoscopy (a surgery to look into and evaluate your pelvis). Some of the test can be covered by insurance. You should definitely check with your insurance company to see if you have infertility coverage, BUT DO NOT tell them you are undergoing infertility evaluation or treatment. They will flag your file which will have detrimental consequences in the future.
