QuestionHi,
I am on my 2nd round of Clomid. I ovulated late last cycle on 50mg, so this cycle my dose is 100mg. In the past I experienced spotting during most of my cycle and for several days before my period begins, and I usually have pretty heavy periods. So when my period was due to start my 2nd round of clomid I was concerned that I had lighter bleeding. However, the blood did look like period blood, just much lighter then what I was used to. I called my doctor to see if this is a normal thing while on clomid and they said yes it was and not to worry and that I could start my clomid. So I took 100mg day 3-7. My "period" lasted 5 days with 3 days of light spotting after. During this time by BBT was still very high, which concerned me, I called the doctor about this and they told me not to worry that BBT's are not always accurate. On day 9 I started heavy bleeding, like my usual period and it got heavier through the night and into the morning, which is where I am today. I believe my real period is just now starting, is this month a bust because I took clomid too early or will this period I started yesterday cancel it out and I can start over taking clomid again? Is it safe?
AnswerHello Austin,
I think that this new flow is your real period and this should define your cycle. If you want, you can restart the cycle using Clomid on cycle day #3-7 or 5-9 then proceed from there to see how you respond.
