Spotting After a Missed Period: Causes & What to Expect

I am from Hillsborough, NJ.

I haven't had my period since October. I have really irregular periods (they come every 3 - 5 months). This week monday I began having my usual PD symptoms such as headache, minimal breast tenderness, etc. I went to the bathroom and I was spotting (pink discharge). It only happened that one time. Today is Friday and still no period. Any ideas what this could be?

There are multiple possibilities, too numerous to go over in this forum.  I think it would be good idea for you to see your gynecologist.  She/He will do an exam, check a pregnancy test and possibly order some other testing such as an ultrasound.  An endometrial biopsy might even be warranted depending on these findings.  In addition, it is not normal for you to have irregular periods and that needs to be taken care of as well.
