QuestionGood day,
I want to get pregnant, I stopped using the pill 2 days ago and already started getting period like cramps and pain in my lower back, not sure if it has anything to do with stopping the pill, i was on femodene.
I am also on deparoc 20mg a day and obviously cant use deparoc when i am preg. I just need some advice as how to stop using the deparoc as i have noticed that when i skip a day or two i get sick. I get nauseous and dizzy etc. should i lower the dosage until i can completely be of it? will it affect the fetus if i get preg not long after stopping deparoc?
Kind Regards Milly
AnswerHello Milly from South Africa,
You should definitely try to wean yourself off this medication before becoming pregnant. It has not been studied in pregnancy, so the effects are not known but it is contraindicated in pregnancy. In terms of stopping, it would be best for you to discuss this with the doctor that prescribed the medication for you to help you to wean off. There might be other medications that are safer in pregnancy that you can be changed to as well. Once you are off it, you can immediately begin trying for pregnancy.
