Delayed Period After Skipping Sugar Pills: What to Know
Questioni have been on bc for about 6 or more months and I'm 16 i skipped my sugar pills last month for sports and this month on my sugar pills i am not getting my period... i went strait to my next pack sense i skipped my sugar pills... I'm 3 days into my 7 sugar pills..is this something i should worry about sense i was sexually active in this month? and is there a way to speed up and get my period so i don't have to anxiously wait?
AnswerI wouldn't worry as long as you haven't missed any pills, since this is fairly common. Some women on some pills stop having periods. It's the same process whereby most women get lighter periods on the pill. Sometimes they get so light that they don't come at all. I'd do a pregnancy test, just to be sure that you're not pregnant. As long as it's negative, I'd continue taking the pills as usual. If you don't get a period next month, you could talk to your doctor about taking a different pill, and you'd probably get periods. However, it's not harmful to get no periods on the pill, and some women prefer it.
