Understanding Your Cycle After Hypothyroidism Treatment: Ovulation & BBT

Hi doctor,
I live in California. I had hypothyrodism and I am still under medication(levothyroxine) by which my irregular period problem got solved. now, I have 28-30 day cycle. I use Ovacue fertility monitor and that predicts my ovulation around 15th or 16th cycle day. This time it was on 16th day. My BBT after ovulation had a dip once and then it raised till 98.62 on 27th cycle day. But from 28th CD, the BBT is gradually decreasing and also my progestrone levels from Ovacue monitor is decreasing from 24th CD. I do not see any pregnancy symptoms. Please advice why my progestrone levels decrease soon after ovulation?

It is possible that you might have a "luteal phase defect", which is an inadequacy of the phase after ovulation.  This diagnosis is made by an end cycle endometrial biopsy to look at endometrial development and dating.  If it is abnormal, then the diagnosis is made.  The treatment is supplemental progesterone.
