Endometrial Thickness & IUI Cycle: Timing & Next Steps

Question
Hi,
My question  involves endometrial thickness.  I am on cycle day 8 and currently taking menapur for an iui cycle.  My et was 6.6mm today. I don't think I'll be ready to take my trigger shot for at least 3-4 days. Do you think that will be enough time for it to thicken up? When should I be put on estrogen supplements if needed?

Thank you,
Katie

Answer
Hello Katie from the U.S.,

Lots can change in the next few days so don't despair yet.  Cycle day #8 is still quite early.  Most people are not ready to ovulate until cycle day # 12.  You lining is not currently adequate at 6.6 mms but could easily reach the 9 mm adequacy point within the next couple of days.  That is influenced by the growing follicle(s) which produce increasing amounts of estrogen as they grow.  At this point, I don't see a need for estrogen supplementation; just patience.
