I am relating this question to you for a friend who does not have email.  She vomits almost every night.  Sometimes this vomiting is preceded by a coughing fit, other times it is a complete surprise.  She has bent over to retreive her purse and vomited without any warning. Sometimes She has just enough warning to rush to the toilet, but most of the time, not.  It is not preceded by nausea but sometimes it is preceded by heartburn.  fyi, late 40s, definately not pregnant. chronic athsma, otherwise healthy.

deborah;

well i think your friend should be seen by a doctor,now,this isnt normal by any means.

she needs to see a doctor;
catherine;

She has reported that Her doctor seems unconcerned.  Do you have any idea what it could be?  I remember several years ago She told me that She had lupus but that it was no longer active (She still has Her cane, just in case it becomes active again)

well this could be the start of it coming back,and if her doctor isnt worried,then maybe its time for another doctor.

catherine;

Deborah want's to know specificaly what are some possibilities.  She says Doctors are a lot like car mechanics in that they don't do much if you go in describing symptoms but they'll zero in on the problem if you go in and say "I think it might be a water pump".  By the way, She says that it's not the lupus, it's been quiet for years and She has never had any internal organ involvement.

Answer

deb needs to have a complete work up,from another doctor,and she needs to write all the health problems and concerns down to remember them,so when she goes to the new doctor.

i dont know what else to suggest at this point,till she sees a doctor.
