Persistent Vomiting: When a Loved One’s 3‑Month Episode Requires Urgent Care

My 42 year old sister has been vomiting for 3 months now.  It starts with bachache in mid section and in between shoulder blades.  It keeps her in bed for days.  Sometimes a fever.  It comes and goes but more often than not.  No insurance but need to know if it is an emergency at this point and what it MAY be.  Thanks

If she cannot keep any liquids down, then it is a problem.. also, if she is losing weight over the three months, then yes, it is definitely a problem...... You didn't mention whether drugs or alcohol were involved or if she had a history of GI problems, but vomiting for 3 months clearly isn't normal and she needs to be evaluated by a doctor.
