Child's Shaky Hands: Causes, Evaluation & Next Steps

I would like some general direction in where to go.  I have started to notice that my 6 year old sons hands are really shaky.  His teacher has also noticed and thinks this may be why he has so much trouble with his writing and coloring.  What might cause this?

Not sure.  There are a variety of conditions in adults, but not many in children.  He should see his pediatrician or a pediatric neurologist.  I would think that it is important to be evaluated, especially since it appears to be affecting him in school.
