QuestionHello,
I am not sure if you can answer my question or not but I am concerned. My fiance had to have surgery and has had complications and I am not able to be there. I am in another state at this time caring for my mother who is very ill and cannot be alone. My fiance has family and friends to be near him.
The point is I am not able to be at the hospital with my fiance to speak with his doctor. He had to have emergency surgery for his hurnia that was strangulating (not sure if that is what it is called) a section of his colon and intestines (this is what he said).
He had the surgery, was home a few days and called me to say he was back in the hospital. He said he is in for an infection. When my husband was born, he had a condition where his intestines where outside his body and had to be surgically put back in so I am sure that made things worse.
He has been calling me each day from his cell phone and is sitll in the hospital (this is going on day 6). He also said his doctor said he can not return to work. That me must apply for disability since there is a risk that he would tear the mesh from his hurnia repair surgery.
This all seems a bit excessive to me. Should I be worried that there is more going on than my fiance is telling me but that he does not want to worry me because of all the other stresses I am under right now?
Answerthat is hard to tell.... he has a problem with the muscle wall to start from, he is a setup for these hernias... and with the infection complication, it can be a prolonged recovery. I don't see how someone can say he can never work... people are resourceful and can recover and he should be able to get to the point where he can do some work. But I don't have a way to read into anything else from your description. If you get me more info, I might be able to help.
