i have been sick with a cold and a sore throat and was given zithromax for an infection and i dont't feel any stronger

Typically, colds and sore throats are usually viral, meaning that antibiotics don't help. They usually take about 7-10 days to improve. However, if you have strep throat, then antibiotics are necessary, and zithromax may not work as well as some other medications.

I can't tell if there is an additional question here.... have you taken the Zithromax, and if so, what additional symptoms do you have?
AnswerHaving a cough is not a symptom of strep throat.... so you probably have a viral illness.... it will probably just take the full 10 days to start getting better.
Vitamin C, Juice, possibly Echinacea, and Zinc are reasonable natural remedies, also.
