QuestionCan I ask you a question about aging? From what I personally am experiencing, aging (aparently) is a "slowing-down" of the human body. I do not understand why this happens, or what causes it. So I am writing to ask if you can explain it to me. Thank you.
My husband and I are both age 50. We have been married for 30 years. We have lived in the same house for 20 years. We enjoy painting, fixing up, repairing, and remodeling our house.
When we were 30 years old, one of us could paint an entire room in an afternoon. Now it takes both of us the paint the same room, and we have to take frequent breaks due to exhaustion, and we do not finish the job for 1-2 days.
This is very frustrating to us!
We eat properly, exercise every day; weightlifting, aerobics, and stretching.
We believe we are of sound mind and body. And our health is good.
But we cannot ignore the fact that we are gradually slowing down. And we grow tired more easy than when we were young.
What is happening to us? Please explain.
AnswerLeonor,
The question you ask about defining aging and some of the biochemical and physiological reasons for such is too broad a topic to cover in this forum. I however have lectured on the subject and am willing to share with you a PowerPoint presentation on aging and Anti-aging. You will need to email my regular email address so as I can email you back a reply with the attached lecture.
